Sharyn Swezy Mitchell

Sharyn Swezy Mitchell, 81, passed away on July 3, 2026 at home in Kings Mountain, NC. Born September 6, 1944 in Honesdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late Robert Swezy and Virginia Simmons Swezy. She was also preceded in death by her husband John David Mitchell, grandson Tyler Adams, and great-grandchildren Kolby and Rory Adams. She retired after a fulfilling career in the research department at Johns Hopkins University Applied Physics Laboratory in Laurel, MD. Sharyn will be lovingly remembered by her family as a wonderful mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother.

SURVIVORS: Daughters: Stacey Adams of Kings Mountain and Alison Allen of Kearneysville, WV

Grandchildren: Christopher Adams, Lauren Adams, Joshua Adams, and Jaden Allen

Great-grandchildren: Layla Adams, Maci Hamblen, Lainey Adams, Emery Adams, Makella Allen, and Valerie Allen

Sharyn's family will hold a memorial service with details to be announced at a later date.
