Shirley Jean (Sprouse) Wells

DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA SHIRLEY JEAN WELLS

Shirley Jean Wells, 76, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on February 06, 2024 at White Oak Manor of Kings Mountain. Born in Cleveland County, NC, she was daughter of the late Arthur and Wilhelmina Summitt Sprouse. Shirley worked for many years doing clerical work at Kings Mountain Hospital, was a longtime Sunday School teacher, and was also active as a volunteer for various seniors programs. She was a longtime member of Family Worship Center and most recently attended Midview Baptist Church of Kings Mountain. Despite staying busy with work and serving others, Shirley still managed to be an exemplary homemaker. Her extensive collection of cookbooks helped her to be an amazing cook for her family and friends. Shirley was a wonderful mother for her children and the best Mamaw for her grandchildren. She always thought of others before herself. Her love, warmth, and affection will be missed by all those who knew and loved her.

SURVIVORS: Husband of over 57 years: Steven Wells, of the home Children: Trent Wells of Kings Mountain; Steven Scott Wells (Nichole) of Statesville Sister: Debbie Mauney (Kemp) of Kings Mountain Grandchildren: Emma Morgan Royer (Brent) Step-grandchildren: Caleb Paioletti (Marissa); Ian Paioletti Step-greatgrandchild: Amelia Paioletti In addition, Mrs. Wells is survived by a special caregiver, Ashley Smith, and her special friend and co-worker, Crystal Bess.

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, February 9th, 2024 at 11:00 A.M. at Midview Baptist Church with Pastor Mike Rice officiating.

VISITATION: 10:00 A.M. to 10:50 A.M. prior to the service at the church.

INTERNMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
