NAME: SYLVIA “SYBIL” B. HALLMAN

- Sylvia “Sybil” B. Hallman, age 87, a resident of Kings Mountain, went to be with the Lord on Friday, May 22, 2015 at Caromont Health, Gastonia. She was born in Cleveland County, the youngest of seven children, daughter of the late Rodney M. and Essie Goforth Burton. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband Robert Earl Hallman, three brothers, Bonnie Burton, George Burton and Robert “Doc” Burton and three sisters, Elsie Mae Green, Addie Neeley and Alice Carroll. She was a retired bookkeeper working at Eagle’s Dime Store and Winn-Dixie. She was active and faithful member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church, loved to read and also a volunteer at Kings Mountain Hospital, “serving as a Pink Lady” for 23 years. She recently received a pin for having served 8,140 hours. Sybil was a loving wife, mother and grandmother who had a strong faith in the Lord who prayed for her family. A Proverbs 31 Lady who will be greatly missed.

Grandchildren: Daniel Joseph Dyer, Kings Mountain; Wesley Alan Johnson, Gastonia;
Brother-in-law; Kenneth D. Hallman and wife Kay, Cherryville

FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Kings Mountain, Tuesday, May 26, 2015, 2:00 P.M. Rev. Eddie Gray and Rev. Scott Whitney, officiating.

VISITATION: 6:00 to 8:00 P.M Monday night at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
