Tex Houston Sipes

TEX HOUSTON SIPES - Tex Houston Sipes, age 72, resident of Kings Mountain, NC went to be with the Lord on November 15, 2011 at his home. He was born on May 28, 1939 in Cleveland Co. NC, son of the late Jacob Sylvanius and Ola Mae Dalton Sipes. He was also preceded in death by sister, Helen Roark. He was formerly a truck driver and later a security guard at Lithium Corp, Bessemer City, NC. He was a member of David Baptist Church, Kings Mtn, NRA, and supporter of St. Libra Indian School in Montana. He loved target practice with his pistols and served in the United States Army. He was a loving husband, father, and grandpa who will be greatly missed.

SURVIVORS: Wife of 47 years: Carolyn Styers Sipes, Kings Mtn. NC Son: Guy Houston Sipes, Kings Mtn. NC Daughter: Lisa Sipes Hyder and husband Wayne, Kings Mtn. NC Brothers: David Sipes Dallas, NC; Gene Sipes and wife Sandra, Texas; and Garland Sipes, Kings Mtn. NC Sisters: Doris Peterson, Kings Mtn. NC; Judy Warlick and husband Albert, Bessemer City, NC; Patsy Carpenter and husband Philip, Kings Mtn. NC 3 Grandchildren: Amber Hyder Greene, Jacob Hunter Sipes, and Haven Raye Sipes. 1 Great Grandchild: Brylee Greene. Wonderful Caregiver, Hospice Nurse, and wonderful friend: Lou Ann Devine.

FUNERAL SERVICE: David Baptist Church, Saturday, November 19, 2011 1:00 P.M. Rev. Charlie Wallace and Rev. Jody Griffin, officiating.

VISITATION: 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. Friday evening, November 18, 2011 at Harris Funeral Home, Kings Mountain, NC other times at the home.

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
