Born in Clay County, NC, ,daughter of the late Henry Kirby and Flora Long Kirby, widow of the late Ralph Homer Davenport and was preceded in death by grandson, Heath Davenport and by 2 sisters and one brother. A faithful member of Faith Freewill Baptist Church, Belmont, NC, she was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and homemaker and after 30 years of service she retired from Comar Industries, Dallas, NC
SURVIVORS: Jerry Davenport, King Mountain, NC Larry Davenport and wife Mary Lou, Cherryville, NC Daughter-in-Law: Lora Davenport, Gastonia, NC Survived by two (2) Brothers Grandchildren: Landa Davenport, Cherryville, NC, Joel Davenport, Raleigh, NC Lorne Davenport, Gastonia, NC 2 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great Great Grandchildren Nieces and Nephews.
FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Wednesday, February 23, 2011 at 1:00 P.M. Rev. Bob Hedgpath , Bobby Hedgpath, Jr. and Earl Stanley, officiating.
VISITATION: 11:30 to 12:30 Wednesday, February 23, 2011 prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home. INTERMENT: Gaston Memorial Park, Gastonia, NC
