Thelma Wills Hicks

THELMA WILLS HICKS - Thelma Wills Hicks, age 97, resident of Summit Place, died November 16, at Kings Mountain Hospital. She was born in Orange Co., NC, daughter of the late James and Mae Strowd Wills. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by a son, Steve R. Hicks, a daughter, Lib Green, a grandson, Lonnie Burgess, III, 6 brothers and 1 sister. She was retired from the textile industry and worked 20 plus years at the Kings Mountain Aging Program at "the depot" and was member at Kings Mountain Baptist for over 50 years. She was a loving mother and grannie.

SURVIVORS: Sons; Lonnie "Dickie" Burgess, Kings Mountain Pete Burgess and wife Teresa, Blacksburg, SC Daughters; Doris Chamblee and husband Fred, Shallotte, NC Margie Lawrence, King, NC 10 grandchildren, 13 great-grandchildren and 3 great-great grandchildren Numerous nieces and nephews

FUNERAL SERVICE: Kings Mountain Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC Friday, November 18, 2011 2:00 P.M. Dr. Jeff Hensley and Rev. Olin Byrum, officiating

VISITATION: 12:30-1:30 P.M., Friday, November 18, 2011 Prior to the service in the sanctuary of Kings Mountain Baptist Church and at other times at the home of the granddaughter, Linda Dellinger, 801 Hillside Dr., Kings Mountain.

INTERMENT: Bethlehem Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain
