DATELINE: GROVER, NORTH CAROLINA Thelma Hurst Whitehouse

Thelma Hurst Whitehouse, 81, of Grover, NC, passed away on April 07, 2025 at Wendover Hospice House in Shelby, NC. She was born September 15, 1943 in Sevier County, TN, daughter of the late Connie Mack and Velva Glecern Hurst and was preceded in death by her brothers, Kenneth, Clabey, and Willard Hurst and a sister, Wanda Hurst. Thelma was of the Baptist faith. She retired from Azdel Industries after more than 20 years of faithful service. Thelma enjoyed spending time cooking, keeping her home, and feeding those she loved. She kept her mind active by working puzzle books and word search in her spare time. Thelma loved traveling back home to Sevierville, TN, spending time with her family and keeping her past alive by sharing stories of her youth with her sons. She was a wonderful mother and a beloved friend who will be missed dearly by all those who loved her.

SURVIVORS: Sons: David Dockery and Tim Dockery, both from Grover, NC Sister: Hazel Rhea, Sevierville, TN Grandchildren: Zachary Price and Savannah Moore (Zachary) 3 Great Grandchildren Special Nieces: Donna Chambers and Brandy Jones

The family will hold a private graveside service at the Hurst Family Cemetery, Sevierville, TN at a later date.
