THOMAS J. HICKS

- Thomas J. Hicks, age 84, resident of 1312 Long Branch Road, Grover, NC died February 13, 2014 at Kings Mountain Hospital. He was born in Cherokee Co, SC to the late James Miles Hicks, Sr. and Mattie Viola Morris Hicks. He was also preceded in death by his brothers, Jake Hicks, J.M. Hicks, Paul E. Hicks, Sydney Hicks, Albert Lee Hicks, and sisters, Helen Kiser, Mary Boheler and Betty Jean Ledbetter. Thomas was a member of Allen Memorial Baptist Church, Grover, NC where he served as janitor for many years. He was a Prison Correction Officer, Shelby, NC for 30 years. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather who loved the Braves and doing word search puzzles. He was "THE BEST" and was good to all of us.

Son: Boyce Hicks, Kings Mtn. NC

Daughters: Barbara Willis and husband Chuck, York, SC

Phylis Yates, Rutherfordton, NC

Brother: Franklin Hicks, Shelby, NC

Sister: Lydia Emma Putnam, Kings Mtn. NC

5 Grandchildren: C. K. Willis, Steven Willis, John Haynes, Jennifer Yates, Ashley Hicks.

6 Great Grandchildren: Brandon Moose, Alexis Willis, Ava Willis, Alana Willis, Seanna Haynes, and Aaliyah Leon Haynes.

3:00 P.M. Rev. Joe Riley, officiating

VISITATION: 1:30 - 2:30 P.M. Sunday, February 16, 2014 prior to the service in the Fellowship Hall of Allen Memorial Baptist Church.
