Virginia "Gin" Bumgardner

Virginia Bumgardner, 96, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on May 29, 2023 at White Oak Manor in Kings Mountain, NC. She was born in Cherokee County, SC, daughter of the late Cleveland and Kathleen Bailey Moore and was preceded in death by her husband, Ralph "Buck" Bumgardner, a son, Tom Bumgardner, her daughter, Linda Moore and 11 siblings. Gin retired from Clevemont Mills after many years of service in the textile industry. She was a faithful member of Oak View Baptist Church for over 77 years where she served on many committees and worked in the nursery. Gin loved people, especially her family and loved nothing more than taking care of others. Where ever there was a need, Gin could be found doing whatever was required of her. She loved feeding people and one would always be expected to eat whenever they visited Gin. Always active, she loved road trips to far away places. working puzzles and cooking. Gin's family was always her priority and she loved nothing more than being around those she loved. She was a wonderful person whose lessons and love will never be forgotten.

SURVIVORS: Sons: Don Bumgardner and wife Mary Jane, Monroe, GA and Jerry Bumgardner and wife Sally, Kings Mountain, NC

Siblings: Rick Moore and wife Jean and Brenda Sellers and husband Bill, both of Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Kim Walker, Rusty Bumgardner (Kim), Trent Bumgardner (Heather), Ryan Bumgardner (Heather), Jennifer McMillian (Terry), and Melissa Green (Will Hicks)

8 Great Grandchildren and 2 Great-Great Grandchildren

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, June 1, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Oak View Baptist Church with Reverends Wayne Brazzell and Billy Cooper  officiating

VISITATION: Thursday, June 1, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of the church

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
