DATELINE:  KINGS MOUNTAIN, NORTH CAROLINA Bertha Elizabeth Queen Bertha Elizabeth Queen, 88, of Shelby, NC, passed away on May 25, 2022 at Peak Resources in Cherryville, NC. She was born in York County, SC, daughter of the late Vester and Martha Peterson Martin and was preceded in death by her husband JC Ayers, a daughter, Rita Davis, 4 brothers and 3 sisters. Bertha was a wonderful mother and grandmother to 3 generations of grandchildren. She will be missed dearly by all who knew and loved her.
