Diane Lynn Champion, 62, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 31, 2023 at her home. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Leonard Champion and Bertha Wilkins. Diane was a longtime member of David Baptist Church. She worked in the manufacturing industry most of her life and enjoyed working with her hands. Diane was a hard worker and did not know the meaning of the word "quit". She could accomplish anything she set her mind to. She possessed a criminal love for flowers and could often be found clipping mementos from flower beds. Diane had a great love for animals and could not stand the thought of an animal not having a good home. She had a menagerie of pets throughout her lifetime of all shapes and sizes. Diane cherished her family with her whole heart and passed her love of flowers and animals to all her grandchildren. If you were loved by Diane, you felt her love everyday in every aspect of your life. She entered and left this world during a blue moon and you only meet a person like Diane once in a blue moon.  

SURVIVORS: Children: John McKinney and wife Christina, Kings Mountain, NC and Angel Swan and husband Joshua, Wadesboro, NC

Grandchildren: Star and Jeremiah McKinney, Heaven, Persephone, Joshua Jr., and Jacques Swan

Siblings: Sharon Champion, Kings Mountain, NC, Rebecca Maiwald (Mike), Dallas, NC, Dorian Broadway, Shelby, NC and Hannah Champion, Kings Mountain, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 9, 2023 at 3:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Reverend Brian Taule officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, September 9, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 2:50 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home 

INTERMENT: David Baptist Church Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
