Evelyn Talbert Eagle

Evelyn Talbert Eagle, 86, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 27, 2023 at White Oak Manor, Kings Mountain, NC  She was born in Stanly County, NC to the late Charlie Jasper Talbert and Vernie Drye Talbert and was preceded in death by her son, Glenn Eric Eagle. Evelyn graduated from New London High School before earning a Bachelor's in Arts from Pfeiffer College. She was an avid reader and served as church librarian at multiple churches, which she enjoyed greatly. She was also a hospital volunteer. Evelyn was a devoted homemaker who lived her life centered around her family, but was also always available to her friends. She did a better job keeping in touch with people than nearly anyone, keeping correspondence up even across the globe with people she met all throughout her life. For Evelyn, friendship was a lifetime commitment. Evelyn thought the world of her grandchildren and loved sharing family history she had learned when researching their genealogy. She was a talented baker, and made a mean pie crust. Her memory will be cherished by all those who knew and loved her.  

SURVIVORS:  Husband: John Eagle 

Sons: Brian Eagle and wife Cathy; Keith Eagle and wife Kim 

Grandchildren: Elizabeth Eagle, John William Eagle, Sarah Glen Eagle and Silas Evan Eagle.  

Brother: Clinton Talbert 

FUNERAL SERVICE:   Central Methodist Church, Monday, September 4, 2023 11:00 A.M. with Rev. Perry Hines officiating. 

VISITATION: 10:00 - 10:50 A.M. Monday, September 4, 2023 prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Central Methodist Church.

INTERMENT: Charlotte Memorial Gardens, Charlotte, North Carolina
