G. L. "Bud" MCDANIEL

G.L. "Bud" McDaniel, 92 of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on July 02, 2018 at Peak Resources, Cherryville, NC. Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late Grier Little McDaniel, Sr. and Alice Fulton McDaniel. He was also preceded in death by brothers Bill McDaniel, Gail McDaniel and sisters Thelma Hicks, Viva Crawford, and Betty Yarbro. Bud was a WW II Army Veteran where he was a Field Lineman stationed in Japan, the Philippines and New Guinea. He was a long time member of First Baptist Church where he was a former Sunday School Teacher, deacon, Church Secretary and Brotherhood President. He enjoyed wood working and gardening. He was retired from Pneumafil Corporation after 38 years of service as an Application Engineer. Bud was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

Daughter: Rita Bell Ferguson and husband Dick, Kings Mountain, NC
Grandchildren: Webb Ferguson, Gastonia and Keith Ferguson and wife Helena, Columbia, SC
Great-Grandchildren: Jasper, Silas and Esme

FUNERAL SERVICE: Thursday, July 5, 2018, 2:00 PM First Baptist Church, with Dr. John Sloan officiating

VISITATION: 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM Prior to the service in the Stained Glass Room of First Baptist Church

INTERNMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery with Military Honors provided by the Foothills Marine Corp League
