Johnie McKinney, 88, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on September 02, 2020 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cleveland County, NC, to the late Robert Elam and Mamie Hamrick McKinney and was preceded in death by ten brothers and sisters. He was also preceded in death by two grandchildren, Sophia Allen and Adam Rogers and a son-in-law, Dennis Stroup. Johnie was of the Baptist faith and enjoyed watching and listening to gospel music. He was an avid Nascar fan and loved watching old westerns on television. Johnie enjoyed being outdoors and loved hunting and fishing. He was a loving father to his children and grandfather to his many grandchildren.
SURVIVORS: Children: Mitchell McKinney and wife Ruby, Kings Mountain, NC, Doris McKinney Stroup, Kings Mountain, NC, Jerald McKinney and wife Lynn, Kings Mountain, NC, Angela McKinney Roberts and husband Johnny, Polkville, NC and Eva McKinney Allen and husband Malcolm, Vero Beach, FL

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, September 5, 2020 at 11:00 AM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Pastor Greg Neely officiating
VISITATION: Saturday, September 5, 2020 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery
