Joy Lorene Cain

Joy Lorene Cain, 85, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on August 01, 2023 at Hospice of Cleveland County in Shelby, NC. She was born in Cleveland County, NC, daughter of the late Fred and Lalar Bradley Champion and was preceded in death by her husband of 65 years, John Wallace Cain, a son, Rodney Cain and four siblings. Joy retired from Mauney Hosiery after working as a secretary for more than 30 years. She enjoyed singing at church and loved praising the Lord through song. Joy enjoyed baking and gardening, taking special care of her flowers. She loved Christmas and enjoyed watching Christmas movies, Matlock, and Little House on the Prairie with her grandchildren. Joy was always very supporting, nurturing, and loving--quick to assure you that she was praying for you. Her love and light will be missed by all those know knew and loved her.

SURVIVORS: Son: Terry Cain and wife Pam, Shelby, NC

Grandchildren: Cristy Cain, Ashley Cain, Spencer Cain Creswell (Casey), and Matthew Cain

Great-Grandchild: Elsie Leigh Creswell

FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, August 4, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Cornerstone Church of God with Pastor John Freeman officiating

VISITATION: Friday, August 4, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 10:50 AM prior to the service at the church 

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Cornerstone Church of God in Kings Mountain
