Joyce Elizabeth Plumley

Joyce Elizabeth Plumley, 92, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on November 07, 2023 at Hospice of Cleveland County in Shelby, NC. She was born in Lincoln County, NC, daughter of the late Golden B. Bridges and Addie Tutherow Bridges and was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 59 years, Klugh Bryan Plumley, a son, Kenneth B. Plumley, her brother, Joe Bridges, and her sister, Mary Frances Plonk. Joyce was a longtime member of Eastside Baptist Church. She was the co-owner and operator of the Furniture Outlet of Cherryville "Moma's Store" and worked as the business manager for Doctors Robert and Thomas Baker's Dental Office for 25 years. Joyce enjoyed travel and has lived many places during her lifetime while being a devoted wife to her husband while he was a member of the Air Force. She was a former director of the American Youth Association in Ankara, Turkey. Joyce was a dedicated and loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend who will be dearly missed by all those who knew her. 

SURVIVORS: Children: Rick Plumley and wife Ann, Goldsboro, NC, Deborah S. Belt, Kings Mountain, NC, and Mark Plumley and wife Mary, Albuquerque, NM

Grandchildren: John Plumley and Ashley Plumley, both of Albuquerque, NM

FUNERAL SERVICE: Saturday, November 11, 2023 at 2:00 PM at Eastside Baptist Church with Reverend Ron Caulder officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, November 11, 2023 from 1:00 PM to 1:50 PM prior to the service in the sanctuary of Eastside Baptist Church

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
