Kenneth Harold Bumgardner Sr.: January 5, 1939 – April 7, 2022
Kenneth Harold Bumgardner Sr. passed in peace surrounded by family at the age of 83 on April 7, 2022. Born on January 5, 1939 in Gastonia, NC, Ken was the son of the late Eddleman and Mary Steele Bumgardner. He was a wonderful and loving husband of nearly 65 years to his wife Barbara Ford Bumgardner of Kings Mountain, NC, proud father of Kenneth Harold Bumgardner Jr. of Kings Mountain, NC , Christopher Wade Bumgardner of Gastonia, NC, Kevin Shawn Bumgardner of Sherrills Ford, NC and Melanie Bumgardner O’Bryan of Charlotte, NC. Proud grandfather of Sarah, Holland, Christopher, Matthew, Alyssa, Britni, Megan, Matteson, Carson and Riley, proud great-grandfather to Mackenzie, Peyton, Benji, Sawyer, Za’Mir, Zaelyn, Dannalee, Kaitland, Hadley, father-in-law to Donna (Kenny), Joy (Chris), Heather (Shawn) and Drew (Melanie). Ken was an amazing and loving family man, a long-time member of Second Baptist Church and very well-respected member of the Kings Mountain community. He loved all people and had a strong love for all animals, especially his beloved horse, Blaze.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son Kevin Shawn Bumgardner and his brother Charles Bumgardner. He is survived by his wife, Barbara, his sons Kenny (Donna) and Chris (Joy) and his daughter Melanie (Drew), as well as his grandchildren, great grandchildren, sisters Ann Parker, Carolyn Holt (Junior) and Joyce Pace (Larry), as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

He was the champion of our dreams and his love was our light, he weathered life’s storms with an unsinkable strength and unshakable love…He silently sacrificed, fiercely protected and lovingly shared. He taught by example and he lived by the truth. His legacy is the wonderful life he built and the love he left written on our heart. – unknown
