Larry Neal “Buzz” Morgan, 70, of North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina passed away on Saturday, May 19, 2018. “Buzz” was born February 2, 1948 to the late Louis T. and Edith N. Morgan. He graduated from Kings Mountain High School in 1966 and attended Gaston College, after which he volunteered to serve his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the 82nd Airborne Brigade and the 173rd Airborne Brigade. He was awarded the Parachute Badge, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Army Commendation, the Bronze Star and Good Conduct Award. Upon completion of his service to his country, he graduated from Limestone College and settled in the Charlotte, North Carolina area and enjoyed a 32 year career with Duke Energy. Upon his retirement, he relocated to North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina to live the Shagger’s lifestyle. Buzz was passionate about dancing, music, family, and in particular his granddaughter. He is survived by his son Neal Morgan, and wife Sylvia of Sylva, North Carolina and granddaughter, Kathleen Morgan, a brother Vernon Morgan (Charlotte) of Gaffney, SC, sisters Janis Byars of Blacksburg, SC and Phyllis Coyle and husband David of Gaffney, South Carolina. Many nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made to Vietnam Veteran Memorial Fund, 1235 South Clark Street, Suite 910, Arlington, Virginia 22202. The family will receive friends at Harris Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 23, 2018 from 12:30 PM to 1:30 PM. Graveside Services will follow at 2:00 PM at, Grover Cemetery, Grover, North Carolina officiated by Dr. Harold Hutchison. The family will be at their respective homes.
