Norma Jean White

Norma Jean White, 90, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on Monday, October 16, 2023 at Courtland Terrace in Gastonia, NC . She was born in Greenville County, South Carolina daughter of the late Robert Lee and Eunice Savilla Irvine Nash and was preceded in death by her husband, Bobby Eugene White, and brothers, Charlie Nash Sr. and John Irvine Nash. Norma was a longtime faithful member of First Baptist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher for more than 40 years to the children of the church. Affectionately known to many as "Jean Jean", Norma loved children and babysat in her home for countless children in Kings Mountain. She possessed a special heart for the young and her love for them was shown in her actions daily. She was a wonderful wife and mother, and a doting grandmother and great grandmother. Norma's contributions to community and family will be remembered always. 

SURVIVORS: Daughter: Elizabeth Allen and husband David, Kings Mountain, NC

Grandchildren: Andrew Allen, Kings Mountain, NC, Jake Allen and Carrie, Rome GA, and Noah Allen and Caroline, Kings Mountain, NC, and Mandi Allen, Shelby, NC

Great Grandchildren: Brax, Hattie, Elise, Baker, Barrett,  Augie, and Frankie

Siblings: Robert Nash Jr., Demaris Turner, Thomas Nash, and Elizabeth Nash

MEMORIAL SERVICE: Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 2:00 PM at First Baptist Church with Reverend Dr. John Sloan officiating

VISITATION: Saturday, October 21, 2023 immediately following the service in the Stain Glass Room 

INTERMENT: Private burial at Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC

MEMORIALS: In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church at 605 W King Street of to Hospice of Gaston County at 258 East Garrison Blvd., Gastonia, NC 28054
