Rev. Clifton Earl Morgan Jr.

Rev. Clifton Earl Morgan Jr., 95, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to his Heavenly home on September 15, 2023 at Atrium Cleveland in Shelby, NC.  Born in Cleveland County, NC, He was son of the late Clifton Earl Morgan Sr. and Ira Johnston Morgan and was also preceded in death by his step mother Bessie Morgan, wife of 58 years Marie C. Guin Morgan, son Steven Eric Morgan, and 3 brothers and 2 sisters. Clifton served proudly in the United States Army and the North Carolina National Guard where he achieved the rank of SGT. He worked for many years with the Macobson Machine Shop, Shelby NC, home of the Jaws of Life.  He also worked and retired from Warner Swasey Machine Company, Bessemer City, NC.  He was a very experienced machinist who took pride in his work. He started his ministry over 45 years ago as pastor of Calvary Way Holiness Church, Kings Mountain. He was a loving and caring father, grandfather, great grandfather and friend. He was affectionately called grandpa by over 250 children.  He was an avid and talented guitar player and singer of gospel music.

Daughter in law Carolyn "Susie" Morgan, Earl NC

6 Grandchildren: Deborah Fisher, Travis Morgan, Stormie Morgan and Jim Darby, James Morgan and wife Kaycee, Jamie Hawkins and husband Terry, and Brandy Fletcher and husband John

Step Grandchildren: Katherine Williams, and Chelsea Peeler and husband John

14 Great Grandchildren and 10 Great Great Grandchildren

FUNERAL SERVICE: Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel, Monday September 18, 2023 at 2:00 PM  with Rev.  Richard Douglas officiating

VISITATION:  1:00 - 2:00 PM prior to the service at Harris Funeral Home, Monday September 18, 2023

INTERMENT:  Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, North Carolina
