Samuel Coy Eugene Black Jr.
Samuel Coy Eugene Black Jr., 78, of Kings Mountain, NC, passed away on March 23, 2022 at Atrium Health Cleveland in Shelby, NC. He was born in Cherokee County, SC, son of the late Coy Eugene Black and Sally Moore Black and was preceded in death by a brother, Calvin, and sisters, Goldie, Jean, Joyce, Alma, Marie "Mert", and Shirley. Coy retired from Kings Mountain Country Club where he worked in grounds maintenance. He also worked for the City of Kings Mountain in the water and sewer department for over 20 years. Coy loved being outdoors, He enjoyed fishing, camping, and working with horses. Coy always loved helping his best friend, Scott Neisler, with the 4th of July Celebrations with the city of Kings Mountain, by assisting with the fireworks display. He loved spending time with his many grandchildren and was a wonderful husband a father to his family, and dedicated friend to many.

Children: Sammy Black, Shelby, NC, Michelle Burkhart (Kevin), Shelby, NC, Martha "Mott" Black (David Scruggs), Kings Mountain, NC, and Chris Black (Richard Titus) Blacksburg, SC
Grandchildren: Dustin, Wesley, Chelsie, Lisa, Miranda, Lil Coy, Megan, Kelsie, Zora, Jada, and Miley
Siblings: D.C. Black (Diane), Elmer Black (Margaret), and Darrell Black (Frances), Jane Owens (Scott)

VISITATION: Saturday, March 26, 2022 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home followed by a Graveside Service at Mountain Rest Cemetery officiated by Reverend Kevin Burkhart
INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
