NAME: TRAVIS RAY HAWKINS

-Travis Ray Hawkins, resident of Kings Mountain, age 77 , died September 3, 2016 at Wendover Hospice. Born in Cleveland County, he was the son of the late A. R. Hawkins, Sr. and Chelsie Ledford Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by brother A.R. "Junior" Hawkins. He was retired from Kings Mountain District Schools and a former employee of Eastern Airlines. He was a member of East Gold Street Wesleyan Church and attended First Baptist Church for the last 5 years. He was a member of Fairview Masonic Lodge #339 since 1968 and past Master of Fairview. He was in the US Army Reserve. He was also known as the "Sockman."

Hawkins and wife Britt, Shelby, NC Daughter: Ann Hawkins Smith and husband Marvin, Blacksburg, SC. 2 Grandchildren: Mackenzie and Montanna Smith Brother: Billy Hawkins and wife Shirley, Kings Mountain, NC Sister: Genell Early, Shelby, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Tuesday, September 6, 2016, 4:00 PM, First Baptist Church, Kings Mountain, NC with Dr. John Sloan and Rev. Eddie Gray Officiating.

VISITATION: 6-8 PM, Monday, September 5, 2016 at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
