Pastor Wayne Charles Reese

Pastor Wayne Charles Reese, 70, of Kings Mountain, NC, went to be with the Lord on February 15, 2024 at Atrium Health Kings Mountain, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Gaston County, NC, son of the late James and Ruth Hodge Reese and was preceded in death by a son, Austin Reese. Wayne preached the Gospel of Jesus Christ for more than 30 years. He pastored at Emmanuel Baptist Church in Kings Mountain, Cornerstone Baptist Church in Lincolnton, and at Bright Light Baptist Church in Bessemer City. He was a former employee of FMC Lithium and of Clariant Corporation where he worked as a Mechanical Design Engineer. Wayne was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hiking, camping and fishing. More than any thing else, Pastor Wayne loved preaching the gospel and leading souls to Christ. He had a special place in his heart for the bus ministry. Wayne was a wonderful husband, loving father, doting grandad and spiritual mentor to many. His love, guidance, and kindness will be remembered for a lifetime by all who knew him.

Children: Dana Reese Ingle (Jonah), Kings Mountain, NC, Benjamin Reese (Kimberly), Kings Mountain, NC, Jordan Reese (Stephanie), Bessemer City, NC, Katie Reese, Kings Mountain, NC, and , Forest Wooten, Cherryville, NC

Grandchildren: Mazie Ingle, Paxton Ingle, and Ava Reese

Siblings: Jerry Reese (Sharon), Kings Mountain, NC and Angela Hoyle (Michael), Grover, NC

FUNERAL SERVICE: Wednesday, February 21, 2024 at 2:00 PM in the Ollie Harris Memorial Chapel with Jonah Ingle officiating

VISITATION: Tuesday, February 20, 2024 from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Harris Funeral Home

INTERMENT: Mountain Rest Cemetery, Kings Mountain, NC
