I was saddened to hear about the passing of Priscilla. I grew up in Bessemer City and Priscilla (Mrs. Mauney) was my 6th grade teacher. She was a fantastic teacher but more importantly a better person who was truly involved in the learning of her students. She loved music and she was the reason I got involved in music in a big way and learned to play the trumpet. I don't remember the grades I made but I do remember teachers like Mrs. Mauney who made a difference in the lives of the students they taught. My thoughts and prayers are with the entire family.

Dear Mauney family, I am so sorry for your loss. I am proud to be a coworker of Margaret & think so much of her kind heart & giving soul. It sounds like she gets it honest! Please know you are in my thoughts & prayers.

Priscilla was a lovely human being and asset to our community. We served on the museum board together and I was constantly amazed at her organization and ability to bring the community together. I hope everyone gets a chance to view her majorette/ice skating outfit at the museum this holiday season and remember all that she did to preserve our history for others to enjoy.
